We got together with friends and with a few of Ellen’s relatives before leaving Winchester, VA. First, there’s a family picture featuring lobsters and shrimp Alfredo,  Yum! Later Ellen had a brunch with a few TVOR friends. Again, yum!

The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (MSV) featured a temporary exhibit this winter that we had to go see. It’s called Marvelocity. It highlighted the art of Alex Ross. You get to see a few pictures here but the exhibit was colorful and full of comic book characters. It was great, especially for those who love comics!

Tickle got antsy and we figured that it was time for the road trip to California to begin. We headed to the Route 11 Potato Chip Factory. What is special because we got to see how to make the product!

Although they claim that their chips are hand made, the reality is that there are machines and conveyors helping the process. However, there were lot of employees laying hands on the work as it went by. We were not allowed to take pictures of the chip making but it was fun to watch.

We’ve never gone into the American Celebration on Parade but we got pictures of the Cootie and Frog once again. Maybe next time we’ll go inside. Just a few minutes away we drove by a statue of a turkey. Rockingham County boasts to be the turkey capital of the world. They have a second turkey on the other side of the county.

The Enchanted Castle Studios does not give tours and there’s a tall fence around it but we got a few pictures. Unfortunately the Natural Bridge Zoo and the Dinosaur Kingdom II attractions were closed.

To make up for that we got to see Natural Bridge all by ourselves. We guess that t was a bit chilly for luring tourists. The State Rangers were kind enough to give us easy driving access to it. A short walk later and we got some awesome pictures. Hope you enjoy them!
